I run this blog, but I also have a full-time job.  At this so called job, we have vending machines like every other place.  The other day I was walking past them and I noticed a sheet of paper on the soda machine.

Watsons is raising the prices, again, on the bottled soda, chips and snacks and refrigerated items.  The canned soda appears to be untouched at .55 per can, which I can live with.

The price of bottle soda is $1.10 which is nuts, but still cheaper than singles at a store.  That is the second price hike in 2 years.  Paying .90 per bottle was the cats ass two years ago.

Snacks in the bottom row of the machine have also gone up quite a bit.  I know that most places are getting charged a lot more for things like chips (.70 here) and honey buns (.95), but Watsons is making a mint.

I figure that I could offer the company the same service but for less to the employees.  The reason that Watsons has to charge so much is a no brainer.  They are HUGE.  Many people, many trucks and much gas consumption.  That all adds up and year after year they have to raise prices just to pay employees the same wage or a little more.

If you stay small you can make more money in vending.  One employee, one vehicle will still get you profit.  As a part time income, you’d have it made.  If you want to go full time, that’s where it’s gonna hurt cost wise.

What do you pay for snacks, soda and sandwhiches at your place of work?

I eat out quite a bit and even before I decided to stop eating meat, I ate out many more places.  The Sheboygan area has nice restaurants and I just wanted to do a quick post about 2 that I like and why.

Chili’s
I do like Chilis, even though I think it’s dirty.  The restaurant is a bit small, but the food is good, service is top notch (for me anyways) and I don’t mind paying the prices.  Plus, the Chili’s to Go is such a wonderful idea.  I like that I can still get Chili’s food without having to wait for a table.

El Camino’s
This place has some excellent Mexican food.  The burritos are awesome and really the prices can’t be beat.  There are other Mexican restaurants in the area, but I really like the atmosphere at El Camino’s.  The place is large enough to feel comfortable at and could easily accommodate large parties.

If you don’t know me already, subscribe to my feed to learn more, you should know that I don’t like to eat meat and eating healthy is a must.  So, it really isn’t a surprise that I mention that I LOVE to eat at the Weather Center on the riverfront.

If you have never been there, I say it’s a must!  You have to at least get down there to try some of their bread pudding!  Small little place along Sheboygan’s fine riverfront with about 6-7 tables, fun music and a 110% friendly staff.

While eating at Chili’s this past weekend I noticed that the restaurant was unusually more dirty then I remember from past dinners there.  I am not sure if it has something to do with not having a “bus boy” to clean tables, floors, etc, if it the place just can’t keep up.

Chili’s was always sort of awkward to me anyways.  A lot of people like to go there, food/prices are decent, but the place is too small.  Noise is an issue, too, if you are going on the weekend.

Usually I will order my food and just pick it up.  What do you think about the Chili’s in Sheboygan?
