Nice Mansion on Lakefront + Many Remodels

Is this home not insane? Does anyone remember what this place used to look like? If I am not mistaken it is the old Rice mansion from the Rice coal family (correct me if I am wrong). In the last 5 years or more the newest owners have done so much work to it and I still cannot believe it. The portion of the home right in the front is actually seperate from the larger portion, I am thinking a guest quarters or something.
I think it looks real nice, it’s just too bad that it’s the only one in the whole area that compliments the lakefront.
What do you know about this home?

That is the Zurheide’s home, it was featured in Lakeshore Luxury Living magazine not to long ago.
Thank you for the comment and information. I really liked seeing the changes over time. Would love to see the inside.
I cleaned it once. The Reiss mansion is on St.Clair
i can not picture that house i was born and raised in sheboygan lived there 29 yrs and this picture looks weird, i remember going there for halloween as a kid (thet always gave full size candy bars) went home last summer 2008, and i thought it was a b&b. and didnt some family member sell property in back of the house and now there is a house there? and who owns that?
My Grand Parents used to own the property. And my mom grew up in the house. I think the house had a underground tunnel(s)? It high above the lake. It was a B&B and I think it was for sale.
Thinking of opening bed and breakfast in Wisconsin. Would be seriously interested in this one. Do you have anymore information on it? I have been unable to locate anymore information online about it. I saw the one Reiss estate on
St. Clair–the lakeview mansion is for sale. That one is really neat, but would love to find out about this one, if indeed it is or was a B&B and might be for sale. Any information you might have would be gratefully appreciated!
There are so many amazing style homes in that area, Im surprised the author of this photo made such a negative comment. Maybe this person was thinking about Manitowocs lake front.
