After reading, for the first time, the posts at sheboygantalk.com and sheboyganspirit.com, I started thinking about what a bad idea it was for the Sheboygan Press to add forums to their website.

The city (and COUNTRY) has some issues that are deep and sometimes hiding.  But what I wanted to say was this;  what is wrong with the people posting hate on the forums regarding the city of Sheboygan?  People hate the mayor, people hate the crime, people hate the 17 year olds getting sexual assaults, etc.  Yet, none of them have anything good to say.

Is it that bad in the city that only the ones that are so perfect post on the forum?  Why is it that as soon as there is a post, the 2nd one is the grammar police?  The 3rd one is the mayor hater (relevant to the topic or not) and the 4th one is Asher?

I don’t have a problem with Asher and do you know why?  Because for now he is doing something productive.  It might look like he is “spamming” the forums, etc. but it’s he has a voice and a right to use it.

I read day after day about how this person did this and that person did that…who cares?  Why aren’t there any people in the city trying to make it a better place to live and raise a family?  I understand that crime is on the rise and the economy stinks, but there has to be better things to do than sit in the forums and wait for someone to bash.

Anyone can bash when the bashee doesn’t know who you are.  The internet is perfect for being anonymous and being able to speak your piece without being targeted.  That is all that is happening.  How many people actually use their real names?  I don’t, but I am also not one to sit there and spew hate across every single post because it’s easier than having a job.

It’s pretty bad and it sort of makes me happy knowing that I don’t want to live in Sheboygan County my whole life.  It’s a nice place, but the people here are terrible.
