Streets Got Beat

Driving through the city today I really started to notice that the streets got beat by mother nature this winter.  For those that want to forget, we all know this winter will go down in history as one of the worst.

With all the rain, snow, ice, rain, snow, snow, snow, ice, it really isn’t any surprise that the roads in Sheboygan got a beating.  The main roads seemed to handle it well, but if you haven’t been to Indiana Avenue or North Avenue all winter, don’t.

Traffic is starting to get quite a bit worse than it should.  With the opening of Menards AND WalMart on the same side of town, the traffic will steadily increase in those areas and the areas leading to them.  At least the roads in the northern part of the city aren’t all that bad and can most likely handle large volumes of traffic.

I am sure the city will be ready to spend our tax money on some newer streets, especially ones leading directly to tourist attractions (*hint, hint*), this spring.  I mean what else does the city have to worry about?
